Plant Soil Function Group at Trinity College Dublin

Research Group of Dr Richard Nair, Botany Trinity College Dublin

The Plant-Soil Function group at Trinity College Dublin is an interdisciplinary research group interested in the bidirectional interactions between plants and the changing global environment.

We focus on how plants work as whole organisms, above and belowground, and intimately coupled into the soil.

We have special interests in phenological cycles - how living organisms change through the annual cycle - and cryptic components of ecosystems such as roots.

While we are ultimately concerned with ecological science, we are also interested in technological solutions to ecological and sustainability challenges, such as pairing modern computational methods with field data collection.

The group is led by Dr Richard Nair.
